That’s right. It’s not Chocolate Day, that’s July 7th, It’s International Chocolate Day, September 13th. There are also chocolate days in February and October. Whatever. Every day is chocolate day.

Up here in Canada Nestlé and Mars have been involved in a price fixing court case for the past 8 years. Why this is exactly the Crown didn’t say. See? The Mounties don’t always get their man.

Deforestation in Peru due to Demand in Cacao
Guess what? As great as cacao is it’s still a commodity. There are accusations, and satellite imagery, that show even primary forest areas are being cleared. It’s frustrating, as a consumer, to know what to do… but I’d say any company that would be involved in, say, price-fixing should probably be avoided as a general rule.
Cacao Barry updates Design
Cacao Barry has updated their packaging to a more contemporary vibe. Botanical drawings and thin typefaces are a nice improvement. Nice to see some chocolate packages as always on the Dieline. Though there are a lot of small companies with equally amazing new designs too!

Let’s first agree to never use the word “chocoholic” again. Unless you’re addicted to chocohol. And if you are you’ll probably be looking forward to drying out a bit in these wonderfully decadent spa experiences. Nothing like a bit of fiddling while Rome is burning!
