This Week in Chocolate: September 13–20

Our weekly roundup of chocolate related news, politics and products. See what’s happened every Sunday.

Should We Take Chocolate in a Pill?

Should we? That’s the question posted in this Discovery article. The health benefits of cacao could make their way into some kind of supplement, though it’s noted that cacao isn’t exactly plentiful. (Please note that I stole their clickbait title.)

Chocolate 3D Printers Unveiled Simultaneously

This is also not the first time 3D printers and chocolate have been combined but this week two were revealed at the same time. Hershey’s, in conjunction with 3D Systems, revealed theirs – which you can interact with at the Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction – and these guys made one out of Lego.

A Question No One Asked is Answered

Is it better to eat a whole block of chocolate at once or to eat a little bit of it everyday? Unsurprisingly this is related to weight gain. TLDR: neither.

Mast Brothers Redesigns Williamsburg Location

A very minimalist overhaul opens up their Brooklyn location. Customers can now get a look into the roasting area from the front. Looks pretty damn good.

A 35kg Chocolate Ganesh

Yes you heard right. Not only does this chocolate Ganesh look awesome but it will be melted into milk and distributed to poor children in the area on an upcoming holy day. It’s an awesome idea. Way better than just using these.

That’s all the news for this week! See you next Sunday.
