Can chocolate reduce wrinkles?
Can the power of chocolate reduce the signs of aging? Another study has come out that shows regular cocoa consumption might reduce crow’s feet – amongst other things. Chocolate: is there anything it can’t do? Waterproofing. Probably not good for that.
Côte d’Ivoire’s big plans
The president of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, says that the country plans to provide half of the worlds cacao supply by 2020. Currently they produce about a third of the global cache.
On the other hand…
Ghana is under internal scrutiny for a stagnating cacao crop. Considering how expensive cacao is getting higher-ups in the Ghanian government are claiming levels of mismanagement. On the ground floor there are also allegations of purchasing agents cheating farmers with illicit scales.
Chocolate requires new grading system
This article is asking professionals in cocoa and chocolate to consider creating a grading system similar to the one that’s used for coffee. This kind of thing is bound to happen and will help makers match beans from one country to the other, though who knows what kind of form it will ultimately take.
