Forcipomyia is the genus of midge that is largely responsible for cacao pollination worldwide. This is Forcipomyia hardyi, a species endemic to the Hawaiian archipelago. How often does a food crop have a crucial interaction with native Hawaiian fauna? I was just stoked to play with the high end stereoscopes.
